ABSTRACT
A avulsão dental caracteriza-se pela exarticulação do dente de seu alvéolo. Sabe-se que a conduta clínica adotada após tal trauma não é unânime. O presente estudo compilou os trabalhos referentes a avulsões dentais, tendo por objetivo propor a conduta clínica mais adequada, analisando os procedimentos sugeridos pelos diversos autores. Ainda existe hesitação na conduta a ser tomada por parte dos cirurgiões-dentistas diante da referida situação, mas há consenso sobre o melhor meio de armazenamento quando o dente não é reimplantado no momento da avulsão e o tipo de contenção utilizada. A medicação intracanal a ser usada ainda é tema bastante controverso, bem como o uso de medicações perirradiculares antes do reimplante
The dental avulsion is characterized for the dislocation of the tooth from its socket. The knowledge about the clinical conduct after trauma is not unanimous. The present study has compiled several works about dental avulsion, having as objective to consider the more adequate clinical conduct, analyzing the procedures suggested by the several authors. Hesitation still exists in the conduct to be followed by the dentist in the presence of the related situation, but there is a consensus of the best storage media when the tooth is not reimplanted at the moment of the avulsion and the type of splint. The intra-canal (root canal space) medication to be used after trauma is still controversial as well the medication used around the root before the reimplantation
